We take privacy seriously. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR). This policy is a general description; contact us for jurisdiction-specific questions.
1. Data controller
For personal data related to the operation of SnapSell, the controller is SnapSell. Contact: support@snapsell.com.
2. Data we collect
We may collect:
- Account data: name, email, password hash, profile and seller settings.
- Transaction data: purchase history, amounts, currency, payment status, buyer email for receipts, and delivery/access events.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, cookies and similar identifiers, and logs for security and debugging.
- Content you upload: files and metadata you submit as a seller, subject to our terms and your instructions.
- Support communications: messages you send us.
3. How we use data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, secure, and improve the platform;
- Process payments, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations;
- Send transactional emails (receipts, access links, security alerts);
- Analyse aggregated usage to improve the product (where we use analytics, we aim to minimise personal data);
- Enforce our terms and protect users.
We do not sell your personal data in the traditional sense. We share data with payment processors, hosting providers, email delivery, and other processors who help us run the service under strict contracts.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the service you requested); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement) where not overridden by your rights; legal obligation; and consent where required (e.g. certain marketing cookies).
5. Retention
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Transaction records may be kept for several years. Logs and security data are rotated on a schedule. You may request deletion where applicable law allows.
6. International transfers
We may process data in the European Economic Area and other countries where our providers operate. Where data leaves the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. To exercise rights, email support@snapsell.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions (sessions, security), preferences, and, where allowed, analytics. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
9. Children
SnapSell is not directed at children under 16 (or the digital consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children for marketing. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; we will revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or a notice on the site.
